The XR-C
The XR-C
One pass. Maximum efficiency. The pioneer in single-stage shredding.

The XR-C is a pioneer in single-step processing, producing a uniform output fraction that can be marketed directly or provides ideal conditions for downstream sorting and recycling processes.

Advantages of the XR-C

This rugged all-rounder processes a wide variety of untreated materials in a single pass, producing a defined particle size of 1.5–6 in (40–150 mm). It handles waste streams such as bulky waste, household and commercial waste, industrial waste, waste wood, and pallets just as reliably as scrap tires, pulper rope, plastic bales, cables, e-waste, municipal solid waste (MSW), composite materials, non-ferrous metals, and aluminum mixtures.

Designed for high throughput and multi-shift operation in industrial facilities, the XR-C is the most economical solution for demanding processing tasks.

Maximum value creation
Maximum value creation

The XR-C is the economical solution for companies and plant manufacturers that require compact, robust, and single-stage shredding with predictable operating costs.

  • Small and medium-sized waste management companies that want to efficiently process heterogeneous waste streams in a single process step.
  • Recycling companies that require process-stable shredding as a reliable foundation for downstream sorting and processing systems.
  • Alternative Fuels processors looking to create substitute fuels for the calciner in a single step with a consistent output.
  • Paper mills looking to break down production residues and pulper rope and return them to the recycling loop.
  • Metal recyclers who need to pre-shred different metal fractions and create optimal conditions for downstream separation processes.
  • Plant manufacturers who want to integrate an electrically driven shredder into sorting, recycling, or EBS plants and offer their customers cost-effective, low-maintenance technology.

C-Cutting System
C-Cutting System

Paired with the pressure feed gate, the C-Cutting System ensures continuous material feed and uniform shredding—even with bulky and tough materials. Interchangeable perforated screens enable defined particle sizes ranging from 40 to 150 mm 1.5–6 in. Four-way reversible cutting plates and adjustable stator bars can be replaced quickly and easily, significantly reducing wear costs and maintenance requirements. The electric direct drive delivers energy-efficient, low-maintenance operation, while the slow-running rotor with integrated safety clutch reliably protects the drive from damage. Contaminants can be quickly and easily removed via an outward-opening maintenance hatch.

Machine configurations: stationary or mobil-e
Machine configurations: stationary or mobil-e

Every operation has unique requirements, and site conditions can vary significantly. That’s why all XR-class shredders are available in both stationary and mobile-e (semi-mobile) configurations, providing flexibility for different operating concepts, material flows, and site conditions.

Both configurations are built on the same proven shredding technology and deliver equivalent performance.

Stationary

A stationary shredder is the most cost-effective choice when handling consistent material flows at a fixed location, serving as a fully integrated part of an overall plant. Typical applications include sorting plants, screening lines, or SRF/RDF processing facilities operating continuously in multi-shift or 24/7 mode. These setups often feature a high degree of automation and existing infrastructure, including reliable power supply. The shredder can be fully integrated into the existing infrastructure, both mechanically and via control systems, for seamless operation.

Drive options
Drive options

Our shredders are available with either synchronous or asynchronous drives. Both drive types are powerful and designed for different applications. The selection of the appropriate drive is based on the material, required throughput, and specific operating conditions to ensure reliable and efficient shredding.

01/02
UNTHA Eco Power Drive – Synchronous Drive

The UNTHA Eco Power Drive is a beltless synchronous direct drive for high-torque applications and demanding continuous operation. Two water-cooled synchronous motors with load-dependent speed control transmit power directly to the rotor and automatically adjust torque and speed to the material. This ensures efficient and consistently high throughput.

The high efficiency significantly reduces energy consumption—especially during 24/7 operation. The low-noise, wear-free direct drive operates without belts, which demonstrably reduces maintenance requirements. The UNTHA Eco Power Drive is the best choice for companies that expect maximum energy efficiency and process stability when processing demanding materials in multi-shift operation.
