Boosting waste processing
Krakow-headquartered MIKI Recycling has further bolstered its environmental credentials by investing in a system that shreds waste fractions into high quality RDF. To meet changing market demands and regulatory requirements, the firm required a single-step solution, capable of shredding municipal and commercial waste into precise output sizes. A fully electric XR3000C mobil-e is now in operation, following a series of successful trials back in 2022.

MIKI Recycling is a second-generation family business serving the Krakow region in Poland, specialising in sustainable waste management. Committed to innovation and efficiency, the company continuously invests in state-of-the-art technology to enhance waste processing and alternative fuel production. Having previously owned single and two-shaft machines from other providers, the firm required a shredding solution that could efficiently process varying waste fractions into high-quality RDF, as well as sort other materials for further recycling.
XR3000C mobil-e – highly versatile
Given fluctuating market demands, the company sought a machine that could quickly adapt output sizes ranging from 35mm to 80mm. The XR3000C mobil-e outperformed competitors’ machines with its ability to change screen sizes rapidly and quickly proved the ideal solution. The shredder processes waste collected from the Krakow region at a rate of 7–10 tonnes per hour, ensuring a steady supply of alternative fuel materials. Additionally, its mobility enables quick relocation within the facility, providing operational flexibility while maintaining energy efficiency and minimal noise emissions.
"We took into account various offers, but according to my research, there is currently no equivalent of this machine on the market,” said Karol Jakubowski, board member of MIKI Recycling. “We wanted it to be mobile, electric and, above all, provide the possibility of quick replacement of the sieve decks. We immediately ordered it with three sets of such elements, the holes of which have a diameter of 30, 50 and 80 mm.”
The XR3000C mobil-e is fully electric, and its robust, low-maintenance design and integrated foreign object protection system enhance reliability, reducing downtime and maintenance efforts. Equipped with the UNTHA Eco Power Drive, the shredder delivers high torque at low speeds, significantly reducing the risk of fire in the chamber. Furthermore, its remote-controlled tracked chassis allows for easy movement within the facility and seamless integration into existing operations.
“The XR3000C mobil-e has been a brilliant investment for MIKI Recycling – its ability to adapt to various waste streams while maintaining high throughput ensures a rapid return on investment and ultimate flexibility for the organisation. We are pleased to have provided a perfect solution – tailored to a unique set of requirements – and look forward to seeing how this partnership continues to thrive over the years," said Pawel Pietowski, sales director at UNTHA Polska.
