Site expansion – new subsidiary – record order intake

UNTHA records another positive balance sheet in 2023

UNTHA, the Austrian premium manufacturer of reliable shredding solutions, headquartered in Kuchl near Salzburg/Austria, has been making a valuable contribution to the economic and ecological recycling of waste and the associated conservation of resources for over 50 years. The company's growth strategy is just as responsible and sustainable: constant further and new development of products and services, continuous expansion of the infrastructure and the team. In 2023, UNTHA recorded a record order intake of almost 98 million euros, sold over 400 shredders and expanded the company group with another subsidiary.

"The 2023 financial year was both a challenge and a success for us: we expanded our global sales and service network and founded a new subsidiary – UNTHA e-technology. We also expanded our infrastructure and pushed ahead with the development of innovation and digitalization projects. With these and many other measures, we have laid the foundation for our planned growth targets and, together with our team, can look to the future with confidence," says Alois Kitzberger, CEO of UNTHA shredding technology.

Milestones 2023

UNTHA achieved a record value of almost 98 million euros in incoming orders in 2023 – this corresponds to an increase of around 3.5 percent compared to the previous year. This result was achieved in part through the sale of more than 400 shredders. High-quality accessories and services are another important source of revenue. The shredders are all produced at the plant in Kuchl, with around 80 percent manufactured in-house. The export quota of the Salzburg shredder manufacturer is over 90 percent.

In order to provide new and existing customers with the best possible support, the international network of sales and service partners was also expanded in 2023. The company is also represented by five sales subsidiaries in Germany, Poland, America, the UK and Turkey. A global sales network in more than 50 countries around the world illustrates the company's market presence. This also reflects one of UNTHA's main focuses: customers and their satisfaction are always the focus of all efforts.

A particular milestone in the past financial year was the founding of UNTHA e-technology GmbH. This subsidiary supplies UNTHA with the control technology required to operate the shredders. By integrating UNTHA e-technology into the Group, UNTHA can further expand its leading position in the production of environmental technology solutions and strengthen its innovative power. This will also ensure the security of supply of important components and the protection of know-how.

A look into the future

"We are also planning continuous profitable growth in the coming years. Therefore, we will invest heavily in expanding our capacities and research and development in order to prepare the company and our employees for the growing demands of the market and our customers," explains Alois Kitzberger. Extensive projects are planned in the area of site expansion, innovation and digitalization projects and the constant search for new talent for the team.

2024 will see several highlights and innovations at UNTHA: In May, the company will be represented at IFAT – the world's leading trade fair for environmental technologies – in Munich. Product innovations, live demonstrations, and innovations in the areas of service and customer support will be on show.
