Metals Our many years of experience with cutter geometries, materials and hardening processes mean that, today, our machines can be used in a wide variety of applications in the field of metal shredding. Whether for lead drums, aluminum sections, stamping lattices or metal turnings, we will select the right cutter to meet your needs – depending on the material, shape and nature of the metal parts or composite materials that are to be shredded. After shredding, the metal is used for mechanical separation plants (e.g. centrifuges) or for thermal recycling in melting furnaces.
The patented four-shaft system used in our RS30 to RS100 series is capable of separating metals in composite materials during the shredding process. Machines in these series are therefore particularly suitable for use in mechanical separation plants. Shredding, combined with a perforated screen, provides excellent separation of the different materials that are shredded; these can then be further separated (into ferrous and non-ferrous materials, for example) without the need for expensive or time-consuming processes. In a single process, the RS30 to RS100 series can reduce the widest possible range of metallic shapes, for example turnings, stamping lattices or even larger metal components, to granules of less than 40 mm (for example, for further processing in centrifuges). This is only possible due to the four-shaft system used in conjunction with a range of available cutter and perforated screen combinations. The machines are distinguished by their exceptional robustness and guarantee extensive cutter resistance to foreign bodies during shredding. The S120 series is particularly suitable for shredding when no specific granule size needs to be achieved. The two-shaft system is recommended, amongst other applications, for shredding aluminum-magnesium (Al-Mg) feeders (250 mm diameter). Special cutters are available for specific applications.
