UNTHA four-shaft technology: 25 years
of success
At the beginning of 1980 Anton Unterwurzacher
was requested by the manager of a SPAR shop to develop a machine to shred wooden
crates and boxes. He then proceeded to pioneer the development of the world's
first four-shaft shredder and screen system for which he was awarded the patent
in 1984. The revolutionary benefit compared to conventional size reduction
systems was that it managed initial size reduction and fine shredding in a
single step. This innovative system then went into serial production and was
promoted and sold as the RS30.

International UNTHA Waste to Energy Days 2009 –
Innovation received with enthusiasm
Wiener Neustadt, Feb 4 /Feb 5 2009: More than 50
sales partners from 22 countries on 4 continents followed the invitation of
UNTHA shredding technology, Kuchl, Austria , a leading manufacturer of
industrial size reduction equipment and attended an expert conference in the
Eastern part of Austria from February 4 to February 5, 2009. Presentations and
discussions focused on the dynamic development of the increasingly popular and
important technology of “waste to energy” / substitute fuel.
The center of
attention of all participants was the TR2500 model, the latest innovation in
secondary shredding technology from UNTHA. Its outstanding performance could be
experienced firsthand at one of the leading recycling facilities inAustria.
Christian
Lanner, head
of UNTHA’s department of product development proudly pointed out the exceptional
customer value of the new TR2500: “With this performance, UNTHA probably offers
the most economical and most efficient shredding solution in the field of
substitute fuel!”
The major advantage for clients lies in the
exceptionally fast (approximately one hour) change of the cutters which in turn
results in an increased productivity of the equipment and a substantially
reduced down time of the entire operation. The significantly reduced operating
cost is guaranteed by the all new “quick-change-cutting-system“ (patent
pending).
At a second major recycling facility near Vienna, the participants
were able to see another of UNTHA’s well-proven machines in action. The
XR-series, designed to handle municipal and industrial waste excels in producing
consistent particle size and in the resistance to problematic material.
All sales partners also took advantage of this
important event to intensely exchange ideas and to network beyond borders and
continents. “ With these well received expert days, the organizers were able to
create a boost for this very important application and technology”, explained
Chris Oldfield, a long time sales partner in Great Britain.
The success of this year’s UNTHA waste to energy
expert days was another proof of a well established and sustainable partnership
between UNTHA and its sales partners worldwide.

UNTHA shredder for biomass production in
Honduras
Subsidised project for a changeover from
heating oil to biomass made from oil fruit
leftovers
Kuchl, July 31 th 2008 - Today palm oil is one of the world’s most important edible
oils. As well as being an ingredient in countless foodstuffs, palm oil can also
be found in cosmetics, washing powders and detergents, paints and varnishes. Up
to now harvest leftovers such as fruit fibres and seed shells used to be burnt
off, as in Indonesia, or dumped. The waste on such dumps produces immense
amounts of methane, increasing atmospheric pollution considerably more than
CO2.

Modern reprocessing systems for gypsum and
gypsum plasterboards
Gypsum and gypsum plasterboards are 100%
recyclable
Kuchl, July 7th 2008 -
At present over 15 million tonnes of gypsum waste are
created worldwide. Almost 100% of this waste, something like 40,000 tonnes a
day, land on dumps. The demand for dump and storage space and the sulphate
pollution due to the leaking of water are just two negative aspects of this
method.

Shredder vs. Shear baler
Kuchl, February 1 st 2008 - Aluminium recycling is one of the most
interesting topics at the moment, as aluminium is a highly sought-after raw
material, just like steel. If it is processed properly, there is no limit to the
reuse of aluminium. Recycled aluminium will not lose its quality through
recycling as long as material of the highest possible purity is
used.
