Sales and business development manager Daniel Wresnik provides an insight into his international work with the waste industry, and his love for exotic cuisine!

Name: Daniel Wresnik
Job title: Sales and Business Development Manager

  1. What does your role entail?

I’m responsible for shredder sales throughout Austria, Germany and Switzerland, as well as neighbouring countries such as the BENELUX region. I am also key account manager for global client Geocycle (LafargeHolcim).

This is not your ordinary sales role – I’m tasked with devising technical shredding solutions that satisfy my customers’ very diverse waste problems. The result is therefore complete packages including services like shredder transportation, installation, commissioning, and operator training, as well as maintenance contracts. I nurture relationships with customers from the initial point of enquiry, through to the project being handed to our after sales team when contracts are signed.

  1. How long have you been with the company?

Since January 2009 – the years have flown.

  1. What’s the best thing about your job?

The variety of projects that I have the pleasure of getting involved with. Every situation is different therefore I have to consider the specific site and operational conditions that come with every new job. Because I’m part of a forward-thinking team, it’s great to be involved in such progressive contracts worldwide.

  1. Of all the places you’ve visited during your time with UNTHA, which has been your favourite?

The sites we visit aren’t what people would typically describe as picturesque. But they’re very innovative. My favourite, to date, is the state of the art Holcim Heming plant in France.

  1. For you, which is UNTHA’s stand-out shredder?

Definitely the XR waste shredder – a strong, robust and flexible machine, which can be used for many different applications. We’ve shown just how efficient single step shredding can be, and we’ve even recently taken the concept mobile.

  1. What’s been your biggest work achievement, since joining UNTHA?

Overall I am proud of the strong business relationship we have developed with our global client Geocycle / LafargeHolcim – a very impressive brand in the worldwide cement industry. As a result, we’ve sold two XR machines in the USA, an XR and TR combination solution in France, and an XR for an SRF project in Vietnam, for example.

  1. Describe UNTHA in three words:

Our brand is renowned for reliability, innovation and quality.

And finally some more light-hearted questions:

  1. What’s your favourite food?

I love many traditional Austrian dishes as well as Italian and more exotic Asian-style cuisine.

  1. How do you relax on a weekend?

By spending time with my wife, children and friends.

  1. If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing you couldn’t live without?

Assuming I’m stranded with my family, I would need my mobile – the gateway to everything else I could possibly need!
